Controversial Ghanaian critic, Bongo Ideas, has sparked yet another uproar among Ghanaians by questioning the talent of national football star, Mohammed Kudus. The midfielder has been in excellent form both for his club, Ajax, and for the Black Stars, earning himself a reputation as one of Ghana’s brightest talents.
However, Bongo Ideas, who is known for his critical comments, took to Twitter to express his opinion that Kudus is not deserving of all the attention he’s receiving. In a tweet, he wrote, “Can someone tell me what makes Mohammed Kudus so special that y’all give him all this much undue national hype & attention?”.
He went further to compare Kudus with former Black Stars players such as Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Laryea Kingston, Tony Yeboah, and Abedi Pele, stating that the young midfielder doesn’t possess the same level of talent as they did when they were playing.
“Bruh, mediocrity aside, there’s nothing so extraordinarily special about him!” Bongo Ideas added.
Ghanaians on social media, however, did not take kindly to Bongo Ideas‘ comments, with many stating that he is unnecessarily picking on Kudus, who has been a consistent performer for both club and country.

Despite the backlash, Bongo Ideas remained unapologetic, standing by his comments and questioning why Kudus is being singled out for praise when Ghana has had many talented football players in the past.
It is yet to be seen if Kudus or any other member of the Black Stars will respond to Bongo Ideas’ comments, but for now, it is clear that the footballer’s exceptional performances have earned him many fans and admirers in Ghana and beyond.
